Keel Laying of MR tanker
SMC is pleased to report Keel Laying in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd., South Korea of Hull No. 2630, the second unit from the series of 8 x 50,000 DWT Class Product/Chemical Tanker ordered by Union Maritime of London.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 30th September 2018.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 31st July 2018.
Bernhard Schulte Shipping Day China
SMC’s parent company Bernhard Schulte held ‘Bernhard Schulte Shipping Day’ on 7th February, 2018 at the Kerry Hotel in Shanghai.
The half-day seminar was very successful and covered some of the latest important industry topics for owners. The event attracted 170 participants, including customers and business partners of the Schulte Group, such as key representatives from COSCO Shipping, SUMEC, Xin Yuan Enterprises Group, Sinosure Liaoning, Changhang International, IMC Group, Huangpu Wenchong Shipyard, the Vice President of China Merchant Shipping as well as financial institutions. Further, the event was attended by Ian Beveridge, Schulte Group CEO, Tobias Pinker, BS CFO, Sebastian von Hardenberg, BSM CFO, David Furnival, BSM COO, as well as senior members of BS, BS Offshore, the Cruise Division, BSM India, BSM China and SMC.
All participants were welcomed by Ian Beveridge, followed by a speech held by guest speakers from the Shanghai Regional Ports Management Committee, Export-Import Bank of China, China State Shipbuilding Corporation and Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre – Asia.
Moka Adinarayana, Project Manager of SMC, shared shipbuilding challenges on VLOC newbuilding, followed by Sanjeev Sharma, Managing Director of BSM India, who presented operational challenges. Besides, Sankar Ragavan, Schulte Group CDO, presented new digitalisation trends in shipping; David Furnival, introduced current BS projects in LNG Bunkering; and Martin Springer, Managing Director of Cruise Division, gave an overview on cruise ship operations and opportunities.
The presentations concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Ben Padilla, BS Senior Manager, where key representatives from financial institutions, such as the Bank of China and the Shipping Finance Centre, China discussed about the role of the financial owner in the shipping industry.
At the end of the seminar all participants had the opportunity to network over a cocktail and dinner session.
Keel laying of Luxury Explorer Passenger Vessel
SMC is pleased to report Keel Laying in West Sea shipyard Portugal of Luxury Explorer Passenger Vessel Hull No. C010, ordered by Mystic Cruises S.A.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 30 November 2018.
Launching of LNG carrier
SMC is pleased to report Launching of Hull number SN2149 in Samsung Heavy Industries, Korea.
Hull No. SN2149 is the second unit from the series of 3 x 174,000 m3 LNG Carriers ordered by Mitsui & Co. Ltd. with Site Supervision by SMC.
Vessels are fitted with GTT Mk 3 Flex Cargo Containment System. Main Engines and Generator Engines are dual fuel using cargo Boil Off Gas as primary fuel source.
Sea Trials are scheduled for early October 2018 followed by Gas Trials starting late October completing early November 2018. Vessel is scheduled for delivery November 30th, 2018.
MR tankers project with Kerrison International Shipping
SMC has signed an agreement to provide plan approval and onsite supervision for two 55,600 DWT chemical tankers with Hong Kong owner Kerrison International Shipping. Construction will take place at CSSC Chengxi, a Chinese shipyard, by end of 2018, with deliveries expected in December 2020. The shipbuilding agreement between Kerrison and Chengxi includes the option for an additional two vessels.
Kerrison International Shipping currently has three bulk carriers under their fleet and three chemical tankers under construction.

From the Management of Schulte Marine Concept
Pre-purchase technical support for catamaran ropax
SMC is pleased to report that we have provided pre-purchase inspection for a buyer from Caribbean Islands of a catamaran ropax with Original capacity of 672 passenger. The ferry was built at Guangdong Bonny Fair Heavy Industry, China and was not accepted by its original owner before delivery. SMC sent three technical experts carrying out onboard inspection and attendance to the second sea trial. A technical report in respect of evaluation of the vessel for second-hand sale was then submitted to the Clients.
After mutually agreed between the Buyer and the Yard, the ferry was purchased by the buyer and with modifications delivered to the Caribbean.
Launching of mv “PACIFIC UNITY”
SMC is pleased to report launching in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., China: of mv “PACIFIC UNITY”, Hull No. H1445, the first unit from the series of 4 x 400,000 DWT VLOC ordered by HONGKONG MING WAH SHIPPING Co., Ltd. All vessels in the series are classed by DNV-GL & CCS and will be built to Hongkong flag requirements.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 18th March 2018.
Delivery of mv “INTERLINK CELERITY”
SMC is pleased to report ship delivery in Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, China: of mv ” INTERLINK CELERITY”, Hull No. TK1022, the thirteenth unit from the series of 13 X GREEN DOLPHIN 38,800 DWT Bulk Carriers ordered by Marine Capital Corporation, Bermuda.
Understand that the Ship is scheduled to sail out by 23rd Nov 2017.
