Marine Plan Approval Engineers (Multiple Openings)

Schulte Marine Concept (SMC), a group company of Bernhard Schulte and a leading provider of shipbuilding consultancy, owners’ supervision and plan approval services in the marine industry operating worldwide, is looking for suitable candidates to be part of a team for providing “Plan approval & marine consultancy”.

Positions required & experience profile.

  • Marine engineers – Seagoing experience as 2nd engineer or chief engineer relating to Dry cargo vessels, Tankers, Gas carriers. Owner’s newbuilding experience and plan approval experience with good computer skills.
  • Electrical engineers – with seagoing experience, Owner’s newbuilding experience and plan approval experience with good computer skills.
  • Naval Architects – Ship design experience as outfitting designer involved in tankers, dry cargo vessels. Owner’s newbuilding experience and plan approval experience as project site Hull and outfit inspector or Site manager with good computer skills.
  • Outfit designers – Ship design experience as outfitting designer involved in tankers, dry cargo vessels. Owner’s newbuilding experience and plan approval experience with good computer skills.
  • Master Mariners – Seagoing experience, Owner’s newbuilding, and plan approval experience with good computer skills.

Location India

Remuneration Commensurate with the industry based on experience.

Job profile

Job would involve all aspects of plan review and consultancy services covering:

  • Review of shipbuilding specifications, Builder developed Plans, drawings, calculations, Equipment drawings, technical agreements, attending 3-D model reviews on be -half of Owners and negotiating them with Builder’s and designer’s teams.
  • Coordinating and attending plan approval clarification meetings with Builders designer team to discuss and resolve plan review comments. Also with project site teams as required.
  • Occasionally attending sea trials, gas trials, Factory acceptance tests. Preparing and submitting reports on such tests. Review of speed trial reports, vibration measurement reports, noise measurement reports, sea trial reports, gas trial reports.
  • Developing in-house plan review procedures,
  • Coordinating and holding “Plan approval kickoff meetings” with Builders team and plan approval closure meetings.
  • Developing regulatory plans such as SOPEP, SEEMP, GMP, etc,
  • Coordinating with ship operation’s team or Owner’s in gathering operational input and creating lessons learned documents for implementation on new project.
  • Coordinating with project site teams in gathering lessons learned input related to design, production, construction, and testing.

Interior Outfitting Supervisor for passenger vessel/ROPAX/Cruise Vessel

  • Project Vacancy: ROPAX vessel newbuilding project in China
  • Experience Required:
    • proven track record in interior outfitting works (public spaces and cabins) supervision for ROPAX, passenger vessel, ferry, cruise, either newbuilding project or refurbishment project

 

Machinery Supervisor for LNG Carrier/ LNG Bunkering Vessel

  • Project Vacancy: LNG Carrier/ LNG Bunkering vessel new-building project in China
  • Experience Required:
    • must have new building experience with dual fuel marine engine (Slow Speed or Medium Speed engines);
    • operation experience as machinery engineer on LNG vessel is preferred

 

Electrical Supervisor for LNG Carrier/ LNG Bunkering Vessel

  • Project Vacancy: LNG Carrier/ LNG Bunkering vessel new-building project in China
  • Experience Required:
  • must have new building experience with LNG vessels (Diesel Electric propulsion system preferred);
    • COMPEX certification advantageous
    • operation experience as ETO on LNG vessel is preferred

 

Cargo Supervisor (Cargo Handling System) for LNG/ LNG Bunkering Vessel

  • Project Vacancy: LNG Carrier/ LNG Bunkering vessel new-building project in China
  • Experience Required:
    • must have new building experience with LNG vessel;
    • Cryogenic Pipeline inspection experience;
    • Boil Off Gas management equipment experience (Membrane or Type C);
    • operational experience as cargo engineer on LNG vessel is preferred

 

CCS Supervisor (Cargo Containment System) for LNG Vessel

  • Project Vacancy: LNG new-building project with Mark III cargo system in China/ Korea
  • Experience Required:
    • must have new building experience with LNG vessels, Mark III type cargo system

 

Expat Site Manager for Tanker Vessel

  • Project Vacancy: Chemical/Product Tanker newbuilding project in China/ Korea
  • Experience Required:
    • must have 2~3 chemical/product tanker newbuilding experience
    • must have newbuilding experience as Site Manager
    • naval architecture or marine engineering education background
    • operational experience as 2nd engineer or chief engineer on product/chemical tanker is preferred

  • Experience Required:
    • must have 2~3 tanker newbuilding experience
