Steel cutting of 82k bulk carrier at Chengxi
SMC is pleased to report steel cutting at Chengxi Shipyard (Jiangyin) Co., Ltd of 1st 82000 DWT Bulk carrier, Hull No. CX0811A. The first unit form the series of four 82000 DWT Bulk carrier order by Bank of Communication Finance Leasing Co., Ltd.
The vessel will be classed by CCS and built to Marshall flag requirements.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 28th June 2019.
Keel laying of 82,000 dwt bulk carrier at Chengxi
SMC is pleased to report steel cutting at Chengxi Shipyard (Jiangyin) Co., Ltd, China of 1st 82,000 DWT Bulk carrier, Hull No. CX0811A. It’s the first unit form the series of four 82000 DWT Bulk carrier order by Bank of Communication Finance Leasing Co., Ltd, China.

Luanching of 308k dwt VLCC
SMC is pleased to report launching at DSIC, China of Hull No. T308K-3 on 28th December 2018 in the presence of the Classification (LR) and SMC Site Office personnel. This is the second unit from a series of three 308,000 DWT Crude Oil Tankers for LANDBRIDGE HOLDINGS, Hong Kong.
The vessel will be built to Hong Kong flag requirements and classed by Lloyds Register.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 15th May 2019.
Launching of container vessel
SMC is pleased to report Launching Ceremony at Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding Co., Ltd (Yangfan Shipyard), China: of mv “Mandalay”, Hull No.CV23H BS12, the twelfth unit from the series of twelve 2,339 TEU container carriers ordered by Bernard Schulte, Germany and J.P. Morgan, US.
All vessels in the series are classed by Lloyd’s Register and will be built to Singapore flag requirements.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for end of May 2019.
Steel cutting of 55,600 dwt product oil/chemical tanker
SMC is pleased to report steel cutting at Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd of Hull No. CX5001, the first unit form the series of two 55,600 DWT Product Oil/Chemical Tankers order by Kerrison International Shipping, Hong Kong.
The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Hong Kong flag requirements.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 21st February 2020.
Bow retrofit for container vessels
SMC is pleased to report that the retrofit work of bow part for series of 3 x 9,400 container vessels was completed under our supervision in ship repair branch of Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. New bow, including bow bulbous, has been designed by Marine Design & Research Institute of China (MARIC) according to vessel operational profile to reduce fuel consumption as well as exhaust gas emission.
Delivery of bulk carrier “TAURUS CONFIDENCE”
SMC is pleased to report delivery at New Dayang Shipyard, China of mv “TAURUS CONFIDENCE”, Hull No. DY-159, the second unit from the series of eight 64,000 DWT bulk carriers ordered by AVIC International Leasing, China.
The vessel is classed by LR and built to Marshal Island flag requirements.
Lauching of bulk carrier
SMC is pleased to report that launching of Hull No. TK1029 (FLORA SCHULTE) was carried out at 15:00, on 05th Dec 2018 in Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, China in the presence of representatives from SMC and Lloyd’s Register. This is the first unit from a series of 4 x GREEN DOLPHIN 38,500 DWT Bulk Carriers ordered by Bernhard Schulte GmBH, Gemany.
The vessel will be classed by LR and built to the Singapore flag requirements. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled on 15th March 2019.
Delivery of ORE SHAGNHAI
SMC is pleased to report naming and delivery Ceremony in Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group LTD, China of mv “ORE SHANGHAI”, Hull No. YZJ2015-2273, the fifth unit from the series of 6 x 400,000 DWT VLOCs ordered by ICBC Leasing, China.
Dlievery of PACIFIC VISION
SMC is pleased to report delivery in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., China of mv “PACIFIC VISION”, Hull No. H1447, the third unit from the series of 4 x 400,000 DWT VLOCs ordered by HONGKONG MING WAH SHIPPING Co., Ltd.
All vessels in the series are classed by DNV-GL & CCS and will be built to Hong Kong flag requirements.
