SMC initiates a series of training sessions

Aiming to both enlarge and deepen the internal knowledge pool, Schulte Marine Concept initiated a series of training sessions for its personnel.

First of the series, held in Chinese Language for a “full penetration” was given to a first batch of trainees; hull supervisors, site managers, technical officers and project managers gathered on 8th and 9th of July in the training centre on the ground floor of the Schulte building.

Mainly welding-related topics like:

  • Welding theory,
  • Explaining and understanding welding positions,
  • Welding of various materials,
  • Visual examination of welding and welding defects,
  • Welders and Welding Procedures Qualification
  • Vessel Construction Monitoring, and
  • Patrolling and Surveillance inspections for hull construction,

were covered by renowned experts from Llyod’s Register of Shipping.

The two-day training was highly interactive and entraining, denoting a great interest of the participants not to surf over the topics, but to deeply dive into the matters presented to them.

The exciting event is set to be carried out for batch of supervisors in the near future.

Launching of 33k SUS Chemical Tanker at DSSE

SMC is pleased to announce the Launching of 33,000 DWT SUS chemical tanker, Hull No. SB667 at Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd. This is the first vessel in a series of five vessels ordered by ACE TANKERS MANAGEMENT B.V., Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The vessel will be classed by NK and built to Liberia flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on the 31st October 2023.

Delivery of 63.6k BC at COSCO Zhoushan

SMC is pleased to announce Delivery of 63,600 DWT bulk carrier, Hull No. N1087 at COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Zhoushan, China. This is the second vessel in a series of eight vessels ordered by Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. Shanghai, China.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Liberia flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on 30th June 2023.

Delivery of 2,600 TEU container at NYZ

SMC is pleased to announce Delivery of 2,600 TEU container vessel, Hull No. N2675 (mv”SITC RUIMING” – “海丰睿明”) at New Yangzi Shipbuilding, China. This is the 10th vessel (the last vessel) in a series of 10 x 2,600TEU vessels ordered by SITC Shipping Management Co., Ltd. China.

The vessel was classed by NK and built to Hong Kong flag requirements.

Steel Cutting of 174k m3 LNG at SHI

SMC is pleased to announce Steel Cutting of 174,000 m3 LNG carrier, Hull No. SN 2597 at Samsung Heavy Industries, Korea. This is the vessel ordered by ASTRA 12 Limited.

The vessel will be classed by ABS and built to the flag of Republic of Liberia, scheduled to delivery on 30th of November 2024.

Keel Laying of 37k BC at DSIC

SMC is pleased to announce Keel Laing of Lake Max Dry cargo 37K DWT, Hull No. BC37K-1 at DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., China. This is the first vessel in a series of 8 x 37,000 DWT vessels ordered by Polsteam, Poland.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Malta flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on 20th November 2023.

Delivery of 1,023 TEU container at DSSE

SMC is pleased to announce Delivery of 1,023 TEU container carrier, Hull No. SB674 (mv ”SITC YUHE”) at Daesun Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd., Korea. This is the fourth vessel in a series of ten vessels ordered by SITC Shipowning Group Co., Ltd., China.

The vessel will be classed by ABS and built to Hongkong flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on 27th June 2023.

Keel Laying of 2,400 TEU container at NYZ

SMC is pleased to announce Keel Laying of 2,400 TEU container vessel, Hull No. YZJ2015-2224 at New Yangzi Shipbuilding (Changbo Shipyard), Jiangsu, China. This is the 1st vessel in a series of 2 x 2,400 TEU vessels ordered by C.U. Lines Limited, China.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Singapore flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on 31st October 2023.

Delivery of 7,000 TEU containers at SWS

SMC is pleased to announce Delivery of 7,000 TEU container vessels, Hull No. H1550 and H1551 at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., China. This is the 1st and 2nd vessels in a series of 12 x 7,000 TEU vessels ordered by Sea Consortium Pte. Ltd., Singapore.

The vessels have been classed by ABS and built to Liberian flag requirements for H1550 and Singapore flag requirements for H1551.

Steel Cutting of 63.5k DWT at CXS

SMC is pleased to announce Steel Cutting of 63,500 DWT bulk carrier, Hull No. CX0682 at Chengxi Shipbuilding, China. This is the fifth vessel in a series of eight vessels ordered by Huaxia Financial Leasing Co., Ltd, China.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to the flag of Marshall Islands, scheduled to be delivered on 11th April 2024.
