Shanghai and San Diego — Schulte Marine Concept (SMC), the newbuilding arm of the Schulte Group, and dry dock experts DM Consulting (DMC) announce a partnership to jointly offer seamless end-to-end services to clients acquiring newbuilding and second-hand floating dry docks (FDD). The range of services offered under this partnership include project development, execution, and operations phases.
Combining SMC’s newbuilding management consultancy expertise with USA-based DM Consulting’s dry dock operational and maintenance experience, clients are offered technical support across the complete lifecycle of FDD acquisitions and operations.
This includes yard selection and audit, review and negotiation of technical specifications and shipbuilding contracts, plan approval and construction supervision, second-hand FDD pre-purchase inspections, life extension work and facility upgrade services during project development and execution, and first dry docking support, operational training and certifications.
The duo will be involved during the entire project and combine their expertise and experience to ensure the FDD meets and performs to the agreed specifications. They will also combine their knowledge to procure and upgrade to client specifications second-hand FDDs and ready them for operation.
SMC is a trusted technical partner for newbuilding and second-hand acquisition projects across a wide range of marine vessel types. Operational since 1973, the company has worked with a number of clients on over 600 newbuilding, conversion and retrofit projects, including FDDs, built across shipyards worldwide from China, Korea and Japan to Europe and other shipbuilding markets.
