Delivery of product tanker at HMD

SMC is pleased to report delivery in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd., South Korea, of Hull No. 8224, the fifth unit from the series of 8 x 50,000 DWT Product/Chemical Tanker ordered by Union Maritime, UK.

Technical management of the vessel will be by Latvian Shipping Company (LSC), Riga.

Erection starting of bulk carrier at Taizhou Kouan

SMC is pleased to report erection starting of Hull No. TK1030 (in building dock was carried out at 1000 hours, on 09th Oct 2018 in Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, China in the presence of representatives from Owner and Lloyd’s Register. This is the second unit from a series of 4 X GREEN DOLPHIN 38,500 DWT Bulk Carriers ordered by Bernhard Schulte GmBH, Germany.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to the Singapore flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 30th April 2019.

Launching of VLCC at DSIC

While the steel cutting was completed on 1st November 2017 and Keel Laying for Hull No. T308K-1 carried out on 8th May 2018, this vessel was launched from the DSIC Building Dock on 28th September 2018 in the presence of the Owner (Landbridge), Classification (CCS) and SMC Site Office personnel. This is the first unit from a series of 3 x 308,000 DWT Crude Oil Tankers for Landbridge Holdings, Hong Kong.

This vessel will be built to Hong Kong flag requirements and classed by CCS Register.

Delivery of this vessel is scheduled for 31st December 2018.

Production commencement of VLCC at DISC

SMC is pleased to report the production commencement for Hull No. T308K-2, the third unit from the series of 3 x 308,000 dwt Crude Oil Tankers for Landbridge Holdings, Hong Kong was carried out on 27th September 2018 at Dalian Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, in the presence of the Owner, SMC and BV Classification.

The vessel will be built to Hong Kong flag requirements and classed by Bureau Veritas.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 30th November 2019.

SMC signs project with the Bank of Communication Financial Leasing

Schulte Marine Concept has signed a new agreement with the Bank of Communication Financial Leasing, China. S.M.C is to provide plan approval and site supervision services for two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers, which will be constructed in Chengxi Shipyard, China.

For SMC this is another step towards becoming a technical consultant and business partner for non-shipping companies who enter the ship owning sector for newbuilding projects. Thus far, SMC has been providing its services to other financial companies such as ICBC Leasing and CDB Financial Leasing.

On September 18th, following the signing of the agreement, the production kick-off meeting took place and in attendance was the site manager and technical director from SMC The project is expected to be completed by end of 2019.
