Keel laying of bulk carrier at Zhoushan Changhong
SMC is pleased to report keeling ceremony in Zhoushan Changhong Shipyard on September 25, 2018 China, Hull No. CHB044, the first unit of a series 2x 64000 dwt Bulk Carrier.
All vessels in the series will be classed by LR and built to Marshall flag requirements.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 23rd May 2019.
Launching of product/chemical tanker at HMD
SMC is pleased to report launching in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd., South Korea of Hull No. 2636, the seventh unit from the series of 8 x 50,000 DWT Class Product/Chemical Tanker ordered by Union Maritime, UK.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 15th January 2019.
SMC signs project with the Bank of Communication Financial Leasing
Schulte Marine Concept has signed a new agreement with the Bank of Communication Financial Leasing, China. S.M.C is to provide plan approval and site supervision services for two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers, which will be constructed in Chengxi Shipyard, China.
For SMC this is another step towards becoming a technical consultant and business partner for non-shipping companies who enter the ship owning sector for newbuilding projects. Thus far, SMC has been providing its services to other financial companies such as ICBC Leasing and CDB Financial Leasing.
On September 18th, following the signing of the agreement, the production kick-off meeting took place and in attendance was the site manager and technical director from SMC The project is expected to be completed by end of 2019.
Delivery of product/chemical tanker “Elandra Pine”
SMC is pleased to report delivery in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd., South Korea, of Hull No. 8224, the fourth unit from the series of 8 x 50,000 DWT Product/Chemical Tanker ordered by Union Maritime, UK.
Technical management of the vessel will be by Latvian Shipping Company (LSC), Riga.
Launching of VLOC at Yangzi Xinfu
SMC is pleased to report Launching Ceremony in Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group LTD, China of mv ”ORE SHANGHAI”, Hull No. YZJ2015-2273, the fifth unit from the series of six 400,000 DWT VLOCs ordered by ICBC Leasing, China.
Delivery of “FMG NOTHERN SPIRIT”
SMC is pleased to report delivery of “FMG NORTHERN SPIRIT” on 24 August 2018 at GSI, Nansha, China. She is the last unit from the series of four 261,000 DWT VLOCs ordered by Fortescue Metals Group, Australia.
The vessel is classed by Lloyds Register of Shipping and built to Hong Kong flag requirements.
The construction for this vessel started in November 2016 and it has taken one year and nine months for its completion.
Delivery of “ELANDRA MAPLE”
SMC is pleased to report delivery in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, South Korea, of “ELANDRA MAPLE”, the third unit from the series of eight 50,000 DWT product/chemical tankers ordered by Union Maritime, UK.
Technical management of the vessel will be by Latvian Shipping Company (LSC), Riga.
Delivery of “TRENT”
SMC is pleased to report delivery in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, South Korea, of “TRENT”, the second unit from the series of eight 50,000 DWT product/chemical tankers ordered by Union Maritime, UK.
Technical management of the vessel will be by Latvian Shipping Company (LSC), Riga.
Erection of the 1st bulk carrier at Koan’an
SMC is pleased to report the Erection Starting of Hull No. TK1029, “FLORA SCHULTE” in Building Dock was carried out on 15th Aug 2018 in Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding, China in the presence of representatives from SMC and Lloyd’s Register. This is the first unit from a series of four GREEN DOLPHIN 38,500 DWT bulk carriers ordered by Bernhard Schulte, Germany.
The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Singapore flag requirements.
Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 15th March 2019.
Naming and delivery of “ORE TANGSHAN”
SMC is pleased to report Naming and Delivery Ceremony in Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, China of mv “ORE TANGSHAN”, Hull No. YZJ2015-2272, the fourth unit from the series of six 400,000 DWT VLOCs ordered by ICBC Leasing, China.
