Keel Laying Ceremony of 36,880 DWT LakeMax General Cargo at DSIC Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Keel Laying Ceremony for a 36,880 DWT LakeMax General Cargo (Hull No. BC37K-7) under its supervision at DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., China. This is the seventh vessel in a series of twelve ordered by Polsteam, Poland.

The vessel will be classed by Lloyd’s Register and built to Portugal flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 20 June 2025.

SMC is delighted to announce the Launching Ceremony for a 36,880 DWT LakeMax General Cargo (Hull No. BC37K-6) under its supervision at DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., China. This is the sixth vessel in a series of twelve ordered by Polsteam, Poland.

The vessel will be classed by Lloyd’s Register and built to Portugal flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 23 March 2025.

Launching of 174,000 m3 LNGC at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries

SMC is delighted to announce the Launching for a 174,000 m3 LNG carrier (Hull No. HN3321) under its supervision at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, Korea. This is the last vessel in a series of seven ordered by Global Meridian Holdings Limited.

The vessel will be classed by DNV and built to Republic of Liberia flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 01 August 2025.

Keel Laying of Commissioning Service Operation Vessel at Ulstein Verft AS

SMC is delighted to announce the Keel Laying Ceremony for a 12,500 DWT multi- purpose vessel (Hull No. SF230201) under its supervision at Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering Co., Ltd, China. This is the first vessel in a series of four vessels ordered by Krey Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG. & Auerbach Schifffahrt GmbH & Co. KG.

The vessel will be classed by DNV and built to Portugal flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for autumn 2025.

Keel Laying of 62,000 DWT Heavy-lift Multi-purpose Vessel at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce Keel Laying Ceremony for a 62,000 DWT heavy-lift multi-purpose vessel (Hull No. CX9611) under its supervision at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou), China. This is the eleventh vessel in a series of twelve ordered by Bank of Communications Financials Leasing Co., Ltd, China.

The vessel will be classed by CCS and built to Liberia flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 22 May 2025.

Delivery of 66,000 DWT Shallow Draft Bulk Carriers at PengLai ZhongBai JingLu Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Delivery Ceremony for two 66,000 DWT Shallow Draft Bulk Carriers under its supervision at PengLai ZhongBai JingLu Ship Industry Co., Ltd. China.

The Vessels are specially designed to load 25,000 tons of copper concentrates at a shallow draft of 6.20 m. Both vessels were classed by ABS and built to Liberia flag requirements and flag have been changed to Jakarta upon delivery.

Steel Cutting of 50,000 DWT Chemical/Oil Tanker at Huanghai Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Steel Cutting Ceremony for a 50,000 DWT chemical/oil tanker (Hull No. HCY-300) under its supervision at Huanghai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, China. This is the first vessel in a series of two ordered by New Legend Shipping Logistics Group Co., Ltd, China.

The vessel will be classed by Lloyd’s Register and built to Hong Kong flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 20 March 2026.

SMC Celebrates Delivery of QatarEnergy’s First LNG Vessel at Samsung Heavy Industries

SMC recently marked a significant milestone with the delivery of Id’asah, QatarEnergy’s first LNG vessel, at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea. This state-of-the-art ship is part of QatarEnergy’s record-breaking fleet expansion program, involving the construction of 128 LNG carriers across South Korean and Chinese shipyards. The initiative stands as the largest shipbuilding program in the history of the LNG sector, underscoring QatarEnergy’s commitment to delivering cleaner energy globally.

The Id’asah represents the first completed vessel from Samsung Heavy Industries as part of the ambitious project. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the LNG carriers are designed to enhance fuel efficiency and significantly reduce emissions, aligning with QatarEnergy’s environmental goals.
