Delivery of 174,000 m3 LNG at Samsung Heavy Industries

SMC is pleased to announce the Delivery of a 174,000 m3 LNG carrier [Orion Saint] under its supervision at Samsung Heavy Industries, Korea. This is the sixth vessel in a series of six vessels ordered by Bermuda based companies.

The vessel is classed by BV and built to Liberia flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on 14 February 2025.

Keel Laying of 49,500 DWT Methanol Dual Fuel Chemical/Product Oil Tanker at GSI

SMC is delighted to announce the Keel Laying Ceremony for a 49,500 DWT methanol dual fuel chemical/product oil tanker (Hull No. 23110051) under its supervision at Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd, China. This is the second vessel in a series of six ordered by Bermuda based companies.

The vessel will be classed by Bureau Veritas and built to Liberia flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 21 November 2025.

Steel Cutting of 49,600 DWT Chemical/Production Oil Tanker at GSI

SMC is delighted to announce the Steel Cutting of a 49,600 DWT chemical/production oil tanker (Hull No. 23110026) under its supervision at Guangzhou Shipbuilding International Co., Ltd, China. This is the second vessel in a series of two ordered by Zhejiang Shipping (Singapore) Pte. Ltd.

The vessel will be classed by DNV and built to Hong Kong flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 31 January 2026.

Wind-powered ro-ro ship NEOLINER ORIGIN launched

Ro-ro Neoline Armateur celebrated, with builder RMK Marine and its partners, the launching of NEOLINER ORIGIN’s, the world’s first commercial sailing ro-ro vessel. NEOLINERORIGIN will become a 136m-long sailing commercial ship capable of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by over 80% compared to conventional ships of equivalent size by reducing energy needs and using wind as the main propulsion energy.

The NEOLINER ORIGIN will be equipped with nearly 3,000sqm of sail and two foldable Solidsail carbon masts of 76m height manufactured by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, retractable anti-drift plans made by Fouré Lagadec, and an ultra-efficient weather routing system developed by D-ICE Engineering.

Thanks to these innovative technologies and adopting a commercial speed of 11 knots, the NEOLINER ORIGIN will achieve fuel savings of up to 80% to 90%, resulting in a reduction of associated greenhouse gas emissions.

Upon completion of its construction, the NEOLINER ORIGIN will perform its first rotation between Saint-Nazaire and the East Coast of the United States (Halifax/Baltimore), with two stops at Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

This new transatlantic route will provide shippers who have chosen Neoline with an industrial and competitive transportation service while being as decarbonized as possible and offering new capabilities in terms of types of cargo (rolling and oversized freight) as well as destinations.

NEOLINE develops custom solutions with and for its partners as part of their environmental strategy to reduce the carbon footprint of their logistics chain.

The solution offered by NEOLINE allows cost savings on pre-routing logistics to major European ports in the English Channel and the North Sea and post-routing to major American and Canadian ports.

With a loading capacity of 1,200 lane metres (2.8m wide) or 265 TEUs for a maximum weight of 5,300 tonnes of goods, the NEOLINER ORIGIN can accommodate different types of cargo. It can also carry up to 12 passengers during its various rotations.

Steel Cutting Ceremony of 115,000 DWT Production Oil Tanker at Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Steel Cutting Ceremony for a 115,000 DWT production oil tanker (Hull No. CHB3022) under its supervision at Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co., Ltd., China. This is the second vessel in a series of three ordered by Pro Tanker Investment Co., Ltd., Singapore.

The vessel was classed by ABS’s Register and built to Singapore flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 10 May 2026.

Steel Cutting Ceremony of 22,000 LT Floating Dry Dock at HuaRun Dadong Dockyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Steel Cutting Ceremony for a 22,000 Mton Lifting Capacity Floating Dry Dock – Hull Number VB0029A under its supervision at HuaRun Dadong Dockyard, China.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to the European flag requirements.

This vessel, ordered by Tenerife Shipyards from Hidramar Group, Canary Islands, Spain is scheduled to be delivered in January 2026.

Delivery of 66,000 DWT Shallow Draft Bulk Carrier at PengLai ZhongBai JingLu Ship Industry

SMC is delighted to announce the Delivery Ceremony for a 66,000 DWT shallow draft bulk carriers under its supervision at PengLai ZhongBai JingLu Ship Industry Co., Ltd, China.

The Vessel is specially designed to load 25,000 tons of copper concentrates at a shallow draft of 6.20m. The vessel will be classed by ABS and built to Liberia flag requirements and flag have been changed to Jakarta upon delivery.

Delivery of 82,000 DWT bulk carrier at JHSHI

SMC is delighted to announce the Delivery of an 82,000 DWT bulk carrier [RGR OKINAWA] at Jiangsu New Hantong Ship Heavy Industry CO., Ltd. China. This the third in series of four vessels ordered by Scion Shipping & Trading.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Liberia flag requirements.
