Naming of 82,000 DWT Bulk Carrier at Hengli Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Naming Ceremony for an 82,000 DWT bulk carrier [XING AN HAI] under its supervision at Hengli Shipyard, China. This is the second vessel in a series of four vessels ordered by Hairun Shipping Limited Company, China.

The vessel is classed by ABS Classification society and built to Singapore flag requirements. The delivery date of the vessel is 26 November 2024.

Steel Cutting of 36,700 DWT LakeMax General Cargo at DSIC Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Steel Cutting Ceremony for a 36,700 DWT lakemax general cargo (Hull No. BC37K-9) under its supervision at DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., China. This is the ninth vessel in a series of twelve ordered by Polsteam, Poland.

The vessel will be classed by Lloyd’s Register and built to Portugal flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 24 November 2025.

Delivery of 696 TEU Container Vessel at Xinle Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Delivery Ceremony for a 696 TEU container vessel [SINAR PANGKALAN SUSU] under its supervision at Xinle Shipyard, China. This is the third vessel in a series of four ordered by PT Perusahaan Pelayaran Nusantara Panurjwan, Indonesia.

The vessel has been classed by ABS and built to Panama flag requirements.

Site Manager Training

On November 22-23, 2024, SMC conducted a comprehensive Site Manager training course in Shanghai. The training was attended by site managers, deputy site managers, and senior supervisors from project site offices across China. Additionally, staff from the technical department at the Shanghai headquarters participated in discussions and sessions.

The training commenced with an opening address by Technical Director Mr. Adinarayana Moka, who extended a warm welcome to all attendees and encouraged active engagement with the training material. The curriculum encompassed over 25 topics and included three case studies, with a primary focus on HSE, use of PAL-NB, technical, operational, human resources and site management.

This training session provided a valuable platform for participants to share their experiences, discuss operational challenges, and explore potential solutions. The collaborative environment facilitated the exchange of knowledge and ideas, contributing to the professional development of all attendees.

The two-day training fostered networking opportunities and encouraged brainstorming for problem identification and resolution.

Undocking of 200 PAX Luxury Adventure Passenger Ship at West Sea Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Undocking of a 200 PAX luxury adventure passenger ship (Hull No. C020) under its supervision at West Sea Shipyard, Portugal. This is the fifth vessel in a series of six ordered by Mystic Cruises S.A., Portugal.

The vessel will be classed by Bureau Veritas (BV) and built to Portuguese flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 28 November 2025.

Keel Laying of 8,750 DWT (7,500 m3) LCO2 Carrier at DSOC Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce the Keel Laying Ceremony for an 8,750 DWT (7,500 m3) liquefied carbon dioxide carrier (Hull No. G7500-4) under its supervision at Dalian Shipbuilding & Offshore Company Shipyard, China. This is the first vessel ordered by Bernhard Schulte, Germany.

The vessel will be classed by DNV Register and built to Portugal flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 30 May 2026.

Keel Laying of 62,000 DWT Heavy-lift Multi-purpose Vessel at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard

SMC is delighted to announce Keel Laying Ceremony for a 62,000DWT heavy-lift multi-purpose vessel (Hull No. CX9610) under its supervision at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou), China. This is the tenth vessel in a series of twelve ordered by Bank of Communications Financials Leasing Co., Ltd, China.

The vessel will be classed by CCS and built to Liberia flag requirements. The delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 15 April 2025.
