Lauching of 82,000 DWT bulk carrier at Chengxi

SMC is pleased to report launching at Chengxi Shipyard (Jiangyin) Co., Ltd of 82,000 DWT bulk carrier, Hull No. CX0825B, the fourth unit from the series of four 82,000 DWT bulk carriers order by Bank of Communication Finance Leasing Co., Ltd, China.

The vessel will be classed by CCS and built to Marshall flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 23rd June 2020.

Delivery of FPSO hull at COSCO Zhoushan

SMC is pleased to report the delivery at COSCO Heavy Industries, Zhoushan (“COSCO Zhoushan”), China of the FPSO “Energean Power”, Hull No. N808, ordered by Energean oil and Gas, Greece. On the day of delivery, the hull departed COSCO Zhoushan for her sea voyage to Singapore.

The unit, after completion of the topside modules’ installation in Sembcorp Admiralty Shipyard, Singapore, is going to be installed on Karish gas field offshore Israel.

She was the fruit of the hard work and dedication of the entire team working together towards the same goal. The entire COSCO project management team demonstrated full dedication to this Project in course of over 16 months of the Project. This was matched with equal efforts made by construction, engineering, procurement, commercial and all other departments.

The delivery followed the ceremony held two days before to celebrate the remarkable achievement of 5 million man-hours spent on the project with ZERO LTI and total of 4,500 people involved.

During the Project SMC site team worked long hours over 17,000 inspections without stopping for single day during COVID-19 epidemy lockdown.

5-million-man hour celebration

On April 1st, 2020 at COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard, the KARISH FPSO new build Hull project celebrated the successful completion of 5 million-man hours without a Lost Time Injury.

The celebration was just two days prior to the sail away of the hull, apart from the usual monthly prizes for safety excellence, jacket carrying the logos of all involved were distributed to the workforce and management in appreciation of the hard work and dedication throughout the construction period that went in to achieving this world class milestone.

launching of 63,500 DWT bulk carrier at Dayang

SMC is pleased to report the launching of vessel DY4066 at New Dayang Shipbuilding, China. She is the sixth in the series of eight 63,500 DWT crown-design geared bulk carriers being built at this yard for owner AVIC International Leasing, China. AVIC is a Chinese state-owned aerospace and defence conglomerate.

The vessel is classed by BV and will be built to Marshal flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 28th May 2020.

EGCS retrofit of MV Marlin Ametrine completes in 21 days

MV “Marlin Ametrine”, the 3rd vessel of Marlin series that undertook EGCS retrofit under SMC’s supervision, successfully completed its EGCS retrofit in 21 days and sailed away on 21st May, following EGCS retrofit of the leading vessel, MV “Marlin Ammolite”, which was delivered on 18th Jan.

The vessel berthed on 26th April 2020, completed all retrofit jobs on 17th May (total 21days), completed commissioning with DNVGL surveyor’s satisfactory on 20th May, and have got the short term IAPP certificate.

All works smoothly finished within 25 days as per initial request from Owner, the vessel was successfully delivered with Owner’s satisfactory. Then as remote survey by DNVGL accepted, SAT was successfully completed at 17:30 LT, 24 May 2020 by ship’s crew themselves and confirmed all in good order.

Delivery of Makassar – 2,400 TEU container ship

SMC is pleased to report Delivery Ceremony in New Yangzi Shipyard, CHINA: of MV “Makassar” Hull No: YZJ2015-2146, the fourth unit from the series of six 2,400 TEU container ships ordered by SITC, China.

First two vessels in the series are classed by DNV-GL, and the last four are classed by NK and will be built to Hong Kong flag requirements.

Keel Laying of 114,000 DWT Product and Crude Oil Tanker at Yangzhou COSCO

SMC is pleased to report keel laying at Yangzhou COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry, of one 114,000 DWT product and crude oil tanker, Hull No. N944, the first unit of the series of two 114,000 DWT product and crude oil tankers order by FSL Trust Management Pte Ltd., Singapore.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Singapore flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 15 November 2020.
