Launching of 2,400 TEU container ship at New Yangzi

SMC is pleased to report Launching Ceremony in New Yangzi Shipyard, CHINA, of Hull No. YZJ2015-2146, the 4th unit from the series of six 2,400 TEU container ship ordered by SITC, China.

Vessels in the series will be classed by DNV-GL will be built to Hong Kong flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 30th September 2020 according Contract.

Keel laying of LNG bunkering vessel at Keppel Nantong

SMC is pleased to report keel laying at Keppel Nantong Shipyard, China of Hull No. H414, the one unit of 5,800 m3 LNG Bunkering Vessel ordered by Shturman Koshelev, Russia Federation.

The vessel will be classed by RMRS & BV and built to Russian Federation flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 20th December 2020.

Delivery of JY Atlantic

SMC is pleased to report delivery at Chengxi Shipyard (Jiangyin) Co., Ltd of JY Atlantic, an 81,200 DWT bulk carrier, Hull No. CX0812A, the third unit form the series of four 81200 DWT Bulk carrier order by Bank of Communication Finance Leasing Co., Ltd.

The vessel will be classed by CCS and built to Marshall flag requirements.

Steel cutting of 174,000 m3 LNG carrier at SHI

SMC is pleased to report steel cutting at Samsung Heavy Industries, South Korea of Hull No. SN2310 a 174,000 m3 LNG Carrier ordered by Navigare Capital, Denmark.

The vessel will be classed by DNV-GL and built to DIS flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 31st March 2021.

Launching of 56,000 DWT chemical tanker at Chengxi Yangzhou

SMC is pleased to report Launching at Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou) Co., Ltd, China of mv “GW FORTUNE”, Hull No. CX5002, the second unit from the series of two 56,000 DWT chemical tankers ordered by Goldwin, Hong Kong.

The vessel is classed by LR and built to Hongkong flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 11th March 2020.

Completion of scrubber retrofit for Landbridge Horizon – 308,000 dwt VLCC

Landbridge Horizon is a newbuilt 308,000 dwt VLCC for Landbridge Group. After delivered from Dalian Shipyard on 6th August 2019, she was reallocated to Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard straight away for scrubber retrofit. SMC is pleased to share the news that the commissioning for each equipment/system and sea trial for EGCS were carried out smoothly, and the vessel has been delivered to Landbridge successfully.

SMC was responsible for overall management of the retrofit work, including drawing review and site supervision during retrofit construction. The subjected EGCS is open loop type with U-Type scrubber, and is designed to make the SOx emission equivalent to 0.1% Sulphur fuel oil emission where the original sulfur content in fuel oil is 3.5% complying with IMO Resolution MEPC 259(68) adopted on 15th May 2015 according to scheme B. It is designed for one ME and three (3) sets of G/E and one EGCS G/E, it’s max. treatment amount of exhaust gas is for one M/E at 85% SMCR +Two (2) sets of G/E at abt.70% load.

The retrofit work includes scrubber room installation, FW tanks modification, AFT mooring repositioning, funnel modification, installation of sea water pumps for scrubber, overboard openings for EGCS drain water, installation of additional G/E for EGC, MSB modification, M/E turbocharger replacement, etc.
