Keel Laying of heavy lift vessel at Zhenjiang Shipyard

SMC is pleased to announce Keel Laying of Heavy Lift Vessel (length and beam – 167.6 x 26 m), Hull No. VZJ449-2301 at Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard, China. This is the first of two vessels ordered by Concordia Damen, Amasus.

The vessel is classed by Rina and complying to Dutch flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered in 2025.

Keel Laying of CSOV by Ulstein Verft at Crist

SMC is pleased to announce Keel Laying of Commissioning Service Operation Vessel, Hull No. NB321 at Crist SA yard, Poland. This is the second of two vessels ordered by Bernhard Schulte Offshore GmbH.

The vessel will be classed by DNV and built to NIS flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered in 2025.

Launching of 65,000 DWT Bulk Carrier at SHG

SMC is pleased to announce Launching of 65,000 DWT bulk carrier, Hull No. B65K-3 at Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd, China. This vessel is the third in a series of ten ordered by CITIC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd, China.

The vessel was classed by CCS and built to China flag requirements. Aiming for a delivery date of 8 July, 2024.

Delivery of 37,000 DWT Bulk Carrier at DSIC

SMC is pleased to announce Delivery Ceremony of 37,000 DWT LakeMax General Cargo, Hull No. BC37K-2 at DSIC Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., China. This vessel is the second in a series of twelve ordered by Polsteam, Poland.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Liberia flag requirements. The vessel ‘s delivery was accomplished on 23 April, 2024.

Delivery of 174,000 CBM LNG Carrier at SHI

SMC is thrilled to announce Delivery of 174,000 m3 LNG carrier, Hull No. SN2592 (mv “Orion Spirit”) at Samsung Heave Industries, Korea. This vessel is the first in a series of six ordered by Bermuda based companies.

The vessel is classed by ABS and built to Liberia flag requirements. Delivery is planned for 19 April, 2024.

Steel Cutting of 62,000 DWT heavy-lift MPV at CXS

SMC is pleased to announce Steel Cutting of 62,000 DWT Heavy-lift Multi-purpose vessel, Hull No. CX9608 at CSSC Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou), China. This vessel is the eighth in a series of twelve ordered by Bank of Communications Financials Leasing Co., Ltd, China.

The vessel will be classed by CCS and built to Liberia flag requirements, The anticipated delivery date is 14 January, 2025.

Keel Laying of 63,600 DWT Bulk Carrier at COSCO (Zhoushan)

SMC is pleased to announce Keel Laying of 63,600 DWT bulk carrier, Hull No. N1093 at COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. Zhoushan, China. This vessel is the eighth in a series of eight ordered by Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. Shanghai, China.

The vessel will be classed by BV and built to Liberia flag requirements. The expected delivery date is 15 September, 2024.

DNV Technical Hull Seminar

Schulte Marine Concept (SMC) has been awarded a contract for plan approval and construction supervision for 14 x 174k LNG carriers ordered at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard by J.P. Morgan, with ABS, DNV and LR selected as classification societies.

To enhance specialized knowledge of Class surveyors and owner supervisors, both the DNV and SMC site offices have agreed to share knowledge and experience with the newbuilding of modern LNG carriers through technical seminars. The first “Hull structure Seminar ” was arranged on 18th of April 2024 at DNV Gohyeon Station Office.

Mr. Youngryel LEE, Surveyor of DNV, has prepared an LNG carrier project specific presentation with focus on the hull structure critical areas and how these can be identified on the hull construction drawings prior to survey/inspection, and how such areas are to be further competently monitored during vessel’s construction. All participants discussed also practical aspects of efficient vessel’s construction supervision given the challenges imposed by the complexity of the LNG carrier construction and intensity of the construction and inspections works.

The session was attended by the team SMC’s site team hull supervisors led by Mr. Pramod Chambath, SMC Korea Country Manager and Mr. Ji Hyun Choi, SMC Site Manager together with Mr. Dong Jin Seo, Naval Architect from Charter “QatarEnergy LNG”. DNV was represented by Young Ryel Lee.

Keel Laying of 7,600 CBM LNG Bunkering Vessel at CIMC SOE

SMC is thrilled to report Keel Laying of 7,600 m3 LNG bunkering vessel, Hull No. S1067 at CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. China. This is the third of three LNG bunkering vessels ordered by Seaspan ULC, Canada.

The vessel will be classed by BV and built to Canadian flag requirements. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 18 December, 2024.
