Lauching of bulk carrier

SMC is pleased to report that launching of Hull No. TK1029 (FLORA SCHULTE) was carried out at 15:00, on 05th Dec 2018 in Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, China in the presence of representatives from SMC and Lloyd’s Register. This is the first unit from a series of 4 x GREEN DOLPHIN 38,500 DWT Bulk Carriers ordered by Bernhard Schulte GmBH, Gemany.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to the Singapore flag requirements. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled on 15th March 2019.

Dlievery of PACIFIC VISION

SMC is pleased to report delivery in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., China of mv “PACIFIC VISION”, Hull No. H1447, the third unit from the series of 4 x 400,000 DWT VLOCs ordered by HONGKONG MING WAH SHIPPING Co., Ltd.

All vessels in the series are classed by DNV-GL & CCS and will be built to Hong Kong flag requirements.

Delivery of ORE SHAGNHAI

SMC is pleased to report naming and delivery Ceremony in Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group LTD, China of mv “ORE SHANGHAI”, Hull No. YZJ2015-2273, the fifth unit from the series of 6 x 400,000 DWT VLOCs ordered by ICBC Leasing, China.

Produciton Commencement of the second 308k VLCC

While the statutory Steel Cutting was completed on 14th December 2015 and Keel Laying on 23rd December 2015, the Production Commencement for Hull No. T308K-3, the second unit from the series of 3 x 308,000 DWT Crude Oil Tankers for Landbridge Holdings (Hong Kong) was carried out on 5th March 2018 in Dalian Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co in the presence of the Owners, SMC and Classification.

The vessel will be built to Hong Kong flag requirements and classed by Lloyds.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 15th May 2019.

Keel Laying of MR tanker

SMC is pleased to report Keel Laying in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd., South Korea of Hull No. 2630, the second unit from the series of 8 x 50,000 DWT Class Product/Chemical Tanker ordered by Union Maritime of London.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 30th September 2018.

Keel laying of GSV

SMC is pleased to report Keel Laying in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard of MV “KAIROS”, Hull No. H8250, 7,500m3 Class Gas supply vessel ordered by Bernhard Schulte Management Germany & Babcock International UK Ltd.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 20th September 2018.

Kamsarmax bulk carriers project with Transocean Maritime Agencies

SMC has signed a supervision agreement with Transocean Maritime Agencies (TMA), Monaco, right after the Chinese New Year. SMC will support TMA’s site supervision for two 82,000 DWT bulk carriers; a newbuilding project in Jinling Shipyard, China. Steel cutting for the first vessel started from February 2018 and delivery for the last vessel is scheduled for April 2019.

TMA is a private, family-controlled shipowning company, specialising in bulk carriers, with 17 vessels currently under their fleet. SMC started cooperation with TMA in 2013 and has already supervised four vessels with same type in Jinling Shipyard two years ago. TMA was very satisfied with the services provided and therefore entrusted this project to SMC.

Keel laying of MR tanker

SMC is pleased to report Keel Laying in Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd., South Korea of Hull No. 2629, the first unit from the series of 8 x 50,000 DWT Class Product/Chemical Tanker ordered by Union Maritime of London.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 31st July 2018.

Pre-purchase technical support for catamaran ropax

SMC is pleased to report that we have provided pre-purchase inspection for a buyer from Caribbean Islands of a catamaran ropax with Original capacity of 672 passenger. The ferry was built at Guangdong Bonny Fair Heavy Industry, China and was not accepted by its original owner before delivery. SMC sent three technical experts carrying out onboard inspection and attendance to the second sea trial. A technical report in respect of evaluation of the vessel for second-hand sale was then submitted to the Clients.

After mutually agreed between the Buyer and the Yard, the ferry was purchased by the buyer and with modifications delivered to the Caribbean.
