Keel Laying of 7,000 TEU container at New Hantong Shipyard

SMC is pleased to announce Keel Laying of 7,000 TEU container vessel, Hull No. H1534 at New Hantong Shipyard, China. This is the last vessel in a series of 12 x 7,000 TEU vessels ordered by Sea Consortium Pte. Ltd., Singapore.

The vessel will be classed by ABS and built to Singapore flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on 30th May 2024.

Steel cutting of specialized tonnage bulk carriers

SMC is pleased to announce that on November 29th, 2023, the ceremonial Steel Cutting for the first two of a series of three highly specialized 66,000 dwt Shallow Draft Bulk Carriers took place at Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry, China. The vessels are specially designed to load and carry 25,000 tons of copper concentrates at a shallow draft of 6.20 meters. All vessels will be classed by ABS and built to Liberia flag requirements. The first two are scheduled to be delivered in 2024.

Keel Laying of 174k LNGC at SHI

SMC is pleased to announce Keel Laying of 174,000 LNG carrier, Hull No. SN2595 at Samsung Heavy Industries Shipyard, Korea. This is the fifth vessel in a series of six vessels ordered by Bermuda Based Companies.

The vessel will be classed by BV and built to Liberia flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on 30th December 2024.

Delivery of 63.5K DWT BC at CXS

SMC is pleased to announce Delivery Ceremony of 63,500 DWT bulk carrier, Hull No. CX0668 at Chengxi Shipbuilding, China. This is the second vessel in a series of eight vessels ordered by Huaxia Financial Leasing Co., Ltd China.

The vessel will be classed by ABS and built to the flag of Marshall Islands, was delivered on 23rd November 2023.

A review on LNG projects in 2023

In 2023, SMC has made remarkable achievements in the gas carriers sector, with successful delivery of 6 x 174k LNG carriers in Korean shipyards. At present, we have over 40+ on-going gas vessels under supervision (including LNG carriers, LPG carriers, LNG bunkering vessels, FSRUs). The projects are executed in shipyards in South Korea, China and Turkey. In the fourth quarter of this year, we were awarded plan approval and construction supervision agreement by the Chinese shipowner, with vessels construction in China.

Besides, in 2023, we have delivered 10 non-LNG carriers equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion system, with another 9 vessels ongoing projects. Vessel’s type includes PCTCs, ro-pax, and product tankers.

Construction commencement of wind powered vessel – sailing Ro-Ro

SMC is pleased to share Steel Cutting Ceremony at RMK Maine Shipyard, Turkiye, of ro-ro vessel equipped with Solid Sail propulsion system. The vessel was ordered by French shipowner NEOLINE.

The ceremony was held on 8th November, with attendees from NEOLINE –
Mr. Jean Zanuttini (CEO), Mr. Adrien Simonet (Development Manager) and
Mr. Blandine Ruesh (Communication Manager), and representatives from France Consulate Commercial Trading Department.

The novel concept and advanced design vessel equipped Solid Sails as main propulsion (with auxiliary engine), is capable to carry 5,000 tons of cargo (265 TEU or 125 FEU). During sailing, 80 to 90% of power will be supplied by the system of 2 solid sails rigging. Auxiliary engines are IMO/TIER III requirements compliant.

Vessel classed by BV will be built to the France flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for June 2025.

Keel Laying of 63.6k BC at COSCO (Zhoushan)

SMC is pleased to announce Keel Laying of 63,600 DWT bulk carrier, Hull No. N1090 at COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan), China. This is the fourth vessel in a series of eight vessels ordered by Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. Shanghai, China.

The vessel will be classed by CCS and built to Marshall flag requirements, scheduled to be delivered on 31st May 2025.

Delivery of 7,000 TEU container at SWS

SMC is pleased to announce Delivery of 7,000 TEU container vessel, Hull No. H1533 at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, China. This is the 10th vessel in a series of 12 x 7,000 TEU vessels ordered by Sea Consortium Pte. Ltd., Singapore.

The vessel has been classed by ABS and built to Singapore flag requirements.

Keel Laying of 13,200 TEU container at SHI

SMC is pleased to announce the Keel Laying ceremony completion of 13,200 TEU container vessel, Hull No. SN 2578 at Samsung Heavy Industries Shipyard, Korea. This is the 8th vessel in a series of 13 vessels ordered by Wan Hai Lines, Taipei.

The vessel was classed by ABS and built to Singapore flag requirements.
