Keel laying of 56,000 DWT chemical tanker at Chengxi Yangzhou

SMC is pleased to report keel laying at Chengxi Shipyard (Yangzhou), China, of NV “GW FORTUNE”, Hull No. CX5002, the second unit from the series of two 56,000 DWT chemical tankers ordered by Goldwin, Hong Kong.

The vessel will be classed by LR and built to Hongkong flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 11th March 2020.

Delivery of Landbridge Horizon – 308,000 DWT VLCC at DSIC

The Delivery and Naming Ceremony of Landbridge Horizon, Hull No. T308K-3, the second unit from the series of three 308,000 DWT crude oil tankers for Landbridge Holdings, Hong Kong was conducted on 6th August 2019 at Dalian Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co.

Representatives from all parties – LANDBRIDGE, DSIC, CSICL, CSOC, LR attended the ceremony.

The vessel was built to Hong Kong flag requirements and classed by China Classification Society.

Launching of 558 TEU container vessel at Haidong Shipyard

SMC is pleased to report Launching at Taizhou State-Owned shipyard Haidong Shipyard, China of “SPIL RUMI”, Hull No. HDBD-2018-002, the second unit from the series of two 558TEU container vessels ordered by SPIL, Indonesia.

The vessel is classed by ZC and built as domestic sailing vessel complying with China MSA requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 27th September 2019.

Completion of scrubber retrofit for Landbridge Glory

Landbridge Glory is a newbuilt 308,000 dwt VLCC for Landbridge Group. After delivered from Dalian Shipyard on 29th April 2019, she was reallocated to Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard straight away for scrubber retrofit.

According to DSIC design, a new scrubber room had been installed back of engine casing, accordingly relevant accessories, piping and electrical system for EGCS had been installed on board.

Meanwhile, below construction, equipment and system modified to fulfil the requirement of ship’s strength and operation function:

  • FW tank construction modified to increase the strength of aft hull part.
  • Aft mooring winch M7 with bollard/roller/chokes modified as it is obstructed by the pillars of new scrubber room
  • M/E turbocharger nozzle rings replaced because the exh. Gas back pressure increased after scrubber installation as per engine maker’s suggestion.
  • Main switchboard (MSB) bus bar modified to comply with increased electrical power capacity
  • New EGC switchboard installed on board specially serviced for EGCS
  • EGC G/E (installed on board before delivery) with FO, LO, ventilation, starting air, cooling FW piping system installed on board.
  • In order to facilitate the installation of EGC SW pump and piping system, E/R pumps and piping systems has been rearranged accordingly.
  • E/R local water mist system, alarm monitoring system, fire alarm system, general alarm system, loading computer etc. had been modified as per requirement.

After all of new installed/modified equipment/system carried out commissioning smoothly, the sea trial carried out on 10th and 11th Jun. 2019, and confirmed EGCS was running in good condition, finally it had been accepted by CCS.

The retrofit job is successfully completed as per schedule of 38 days, and the vessel was under sea going to Korea for her Maiden voyage.

Steel cutting of 82,000 DWT bulk carrier at Chengxi Shipyard

SMC is pleased to report steel cutting at Chengxi Shipyard (Jiangyin), China, of Hull No. CX0812A, the third unit form the series of four 82,000 DWT bulk carriers order by Bank of Communication Finance Leasing, China.

The vessel will be classed by CCS and built to Marshall flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 6th Dec 2019.

Steel cutting of 2,400 TEU container ship at New Yangzi

SMC is pleased to report steel cutting ceremony in New Yangzi Shipyard, CHINA, of Hull No. YZJ2015-2012, the fifth unit from the series of six 2,400 TEU container ships ordered by SITC, China.

The vessel will be classed by DNV-GL and built to Hong Kong flag requirements.

Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for 26th August 2020.
